SAMPLE & QUALITY REVIEW

Check the details
you agreed.

A useful inspection compares the hat with an agreed reference. The measurement method and the detail being checked should be clear to everyone.

PROJECT NOTES

A beanie quality plan should cover agreed dimensions, yarn specification, colourway, knit appearance, branding and finishing. Measure the hat in a defined state and compare it with the approved sample and written tolerances.

Write the acceptance conditions before checking

A numerical tolerance only helps when the starting measurement, method and reference are defined. Do not mix a stretched opening width with an unstretched sample width or compare a folded hat with a full-height measurement.

Where your brief includes wash behaviour, recovery or another performance requirement, agree the test conditions and acceptance method. An attractive sample photograph does not prove those results.
